funeral service for Judy Horst, 67, Valley City, ND will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Grace Free Lutheran Church, Valley City.  Burial will be in Woodbine Cemetery, Valley City.  She died at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND on June 28, 2012.   

Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the church on Tuesday.

Judy Ann Sather was born on June 28, 1945 in Valley City, ND, the daughter of Delmar and Inga (Jorgenson) Sather.  Her elementary school years were spent at Green School.  She was a graduate of Valley City High School.  Judy continued her education at Town and Country Beauty School in Jamestown, ND.        

On September 30, 1970, she married Stanley Horst.  They made their home near Valley City.  She worked at the Sheyenne Care Center for 19 years, retiring in 2004.        

For Judy, family always came first.  She was a devoted wife, a proud mother, and loving grandmother.  Her home was always neat and clean.  Judy enjoyed gardening and doing crafts.  She loved being outdoors and taking care of her yard.  She will be remembered as a generous hostess, you never left her home hungry.          

Judy is survived by her husband, Stan of Valley City; daughters, Shelley Schmidt of Valley City, JoDee (Scott Hausmann) Horst of Blaine, MN, Tonya (Rory) Stearns of Welch, MN; son, Shannon (Jill Rittenhouse) Horst of Valley City; grandchildren, Cody and Cassidy Schmidt, Gabrielle and Garrett Hausmann, Shania and Miranda Stearns, and Bentley Rittenhouse; and a sister, Donna (Walter) Erickson of Detroit Lakes, MN   

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Deloris Sather; and her aunts and uncles.
