N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Jamestown based nonprofit organization Farm Rescue, which provides free planting and harvesting assistance to farmers who have experienced a major injury, illness or natural disaster, will assist its 200th family in Wyndmere, North Dakota on Thursday at 11am.

Dan and Rose Dotzenrod of rural Wyndmere, will receive harvesting assistance due to a major injury experienced earlier this year. Dan is recovering from a broken neck after falling off of a semi-trailer and is unable to operate harvest equipment this season.

Farm Rescue gives families a chance to continue their livelihood by providing the necessary equipment and manpower to plant or harvest their crops when unable to do so themselves.

Since its inception seven years ago, the organization has planted and harvested crops for farm families in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Montana. Iowa was recently added as the fifth state in which Farm Rescue provides assistance.

The organization has a volunteer workforce from across the nation and sponsors that including RDO Equipment Co., Walmart and many others who support the mission of Farm Rescue.
