N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Officials say the ongoing joint investigation into a suspected arson fire Friday at a house near downtown Jamestown is expected to be wrapped up by next week.

Jamestown Police Chief Scott Edinger says the police department’s joint investigation with the Jamestown Fire Department has led to a suspect, but says no further details will likely be available until submitting information to the state level next week.

All indications from Fire Chief Jim Reuther are that the fire, which is expected to have caused complete damage to the $87,000 worth of the two-story home in addition to $53,000 of contents inside, was set intentionally.

No one was home at the time of the incident, and the fire was initially reported by neighbors.
