N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown High Blue Jay girls hockey suffered their first defeat of the young season Thursday night inside John L. Wilson Arena in Jamestown, falling to the Fargo South-Davies Bruins 4-1.

The Blue Jays (3-1) trailed 3-1 after the first period and, despite allowing just one goal in the remaining 34 minutes, they were unable to muster enough offense to mount a comeback.

The Blue Jays were coming off an emotional overtime victory Tuesday night at Wilson Arena, defeating the Bismarck Blizzard 2-1 to remain undefeated.

Senior defender Amber Schaak had the Blue Jays’ lone goal in the loss.

Captain and senior netminder Carissa Finck surrendered three more goals on Thursday night than she had allowed all season long in 153 minutes of ice time.

The Bruins’ victory extended the defending state champion’s winning streak to 29 games.

The Blue Jays are off until Dec. 7, when they’ll hit the road for consecutive matchups against Minot and then Williston on Dec. 8.
