(NewsDakota.com) For the second time in as many games, the LaMoure Post 19 American Legion baseball team has needed extra innings to decide a winner in the State Class B Legion Tournament. This time around, Post 19 was able to come out on the positive end of the scoreboard as they earned a 2-1 victory in eight innings against Enderlin Post 221 on Thursday.

Each team managed just four hits apiece, with Enderlin scoring the first run in the top of the second inning. LaMoure found the scoreboard in the fourth, and then scored the winning run on a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the eighth with no outs.

Jared Meiklejohn, who was the losing pitcher the night before against Beulah, earned the win going all eight innings allowing four hits and striking out six. Thomas Lindgren took the loss. He saw all eight innings as well, walking five and striking out 10.

Beau Diegal was 2-3 with two hits for LaMoure. Gareth Hanson was also 2-3 with a double, single and run scored for Enderlin.

Post 19 LaMoure will next play in another loser-out contest on Friday at 2:30 against either Cando or Hazen. Coverage on Q101.1FM and NewsDakota.com starts at 2:15 Friday.
