N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The National Weather Service in Bismarck has announced the scheduled training sessions with Skywarn, a severe weather service training guide.

These training sessions will allow you to obtain the knowledge to become a spotter with a local agency. While not necessarily a “Storm Chaser”, spotters stay close to home and gather information to distribute to a local organization, such as the National Weather Service. Spotters report on wind speed, hail size, rainfall and cloud formations. Taking the class doesn’t require an individual to become a weather spotter.

A training session has been planned in Carrington on Wednesday, May 7th from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Carrington Fire Hall. The training sessions are free and open to the public with no registration required.
