CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Valley City is in the process of establishing a Public Utility Assistance Fund to help qualified residents pay for their electric, water and sewer city bills.

City Commissioner Madeline Luke spearheaded the idea of setting up a fund were any resident could add one more dollar to their monthly bill to help others in the city.

Luke says you have to be a city resident for one year to meet one of the requirements.

The Valley City commission unanimously approved of setting up the Public Utility Assistance Fund.  Auditor Avis Richter is working on setting up the fund.
