N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Hot and humid temperatures striking the area are scheduled to bring severe weather today.

The Bismarck National Weather Service is reporting heat index in the Southeast portion of North Dakota to be around 105 degrees this afternoon. Later this afternoon, severe storms with damaging winds in excess of 75 mph are likely East from McClusky to Bismarck to Fort Yates. Large hail, flash flooding and isolated tornadoes are possible for the rest of North Dakota.

Highs are reported to reach around 90 degrees in Jamestown and Carrington, 93 degrees in Valley City, and 97 degrees in Oakes.
