ROCKFORD (NewsDakota.com)  The day would start with eight teams, but would end with six.  The first two games on Saturday were elimination games while the next two were the quarterfinal contests.  Here are the results:

Carrington 7  Beulah 4

After giving up one run in the bottom of the first inning, pitcher Jayden Shipman would throw four out of six scoreless innings to help his team improve to 22-3 and end the Twisters season at 21-5.  Shipman was also the player of the game, picking up the complete game victory giving up four runs on seven hits and two strikeouts.  At the plate he was 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI double.  For Beulah, Chase Fernandez was 1-for-3 with with a sacrifice and three RBI.    

Burlington 14  Sheyenne/New Rockford 8

The Bulldogs would get two hits each from Arron Grandy, Jarrett Vendsel and John Koronka to help them beat the Black Sox, the host team ends their season at 14-15.  The first three batters in the order for SNR also had two hits each, Tyrus Smith, Josh McKnight and Seth Soderholm.  Koronka was the player of the game and also the winning pitcher.    

Kindred 12  Thompson 0, 5 innings

For the second consecutive day, the Vikings score 12 runs in a game and get the victory.  They have scored 24 total combined points so far in two games.  Ethan Lingen was the player of the game throwing a 2-hitter and going 2-for-4 at the plate.  

Park River 19  Valley City 2, 5 innings

The Pirates would score three in the first, six in the second, one in the third and nine in the fourth to beat Valley City.  Both quarterfinal games ended in five innings.  Tom Magnusson would throw a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts and would be named the player of the game.

1pm – Valley City vs. Carrington (elimination game)

3:30pm – Burlington vs. Thompson (elimination game)

6pm – Kindred vs. Park River (semifinal)

All games can be heard on AM 1600 KDAK and newsdakota.com.  All Valley City games will be simulcast on AM 1490 KOVC.  Pregame will begin about 10 minutes before each game.
