(NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown junior Sierra Bennion lead her team to a 2nd place finish at the Class A state golf tournament and also finished 2nd overall in the individual ranking. The Jays carded a two-day total of 725 which was good enough for second.

Jamestown lead the state tournament by two strokes after the first day when Bismarck’s Katie Kasper carded an uncharacteristic 88. Kasper rebounded to shot a 75 on day two which was good enough for her to finish third. Jennifer Marsh of Davies won the individual title with a 147. All three top-finishers are juniors.

Bennion put up a first day 80 and followed that up with a 76 for a two day total of 156, nine shots behind Marsh. Jamestown returns all their golfers next year and has high hopes to be right back in the same spot.
