N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – On Saturday, June 25th at around 11:35 AM, the North Dakota Highway Patrol responded to the report of a train/pedestrian crash in Leeds, North Dakota.

Sgt. Adam Dvorak reports that they, along with the Benson County Sheriff’s Department, were contacted by BNSF Railroad employees after they saw what they believed to be a body on the tracks. When emergency officials arrived, they discovered that a 55 year-old man from Leeds had died on the railroad tracks, but not from being struck by a train.

The North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Benson County Coroner responded to investigate the death. The crash remains under investigation.

Sgt. Dvorak reports that at this point, there is no foul play suspected.
