CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) Former Valley City State University professor 33-year old Long Man Ram Lau, who was arrested on charges of possession of stolen property and unauthorized use of personal information earlier this year, is out of jail.

Lau was in the Barnes County jail on a one million dollar bond before his release following a June 17th bond hearing.

Barnes County State’s Attorney Carl Martineck says bail was reduced to $30,000 on June 17.  He says Lau paid the bail with three different credit cards on June 20.  Two were in his name.  One was in the name of another individual from Massachusetts.  Lau provided a Georgia mailing address, and stated that he would be living with his fiancé.  His preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 16.

Valley City Police Chief Fred Thompson says investigators found a combination of nearly 200 credit cards and debit cards as police executed a search warrant. He says several personal computers were seized during the search of Lau’s home on March 22.
