VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NDHSAA) – All eight North Dakota High School Activities Association Class B Boys Region Basketball Tournaments have been postponed due to forecast of heavy snow and poor travel conditions.

Tournaments will now start Tuesday, March 6. The NDHSAA State Class B Boys Basketball Tournament seeding will now be announced on statewide television at approximately 8 p.m. CST on Saturday, March 10 in between championship games at the Super A State Basketball Tournament in Fargo.

Any additional postponements will be posted on www.ndhsaanow.com. Postponements will also be sent to NDHSAA main school contacts and statewide media.

Revised schedules for each region are listed below:

Region 1 (Start times will remain the same as the original schedule)
Quarterfinals – Tuesday, March 6 at Ed Werre Arena in Wahpeton
Semifinals – Thursday, March 8 at Ed Werre Arena in Wahpeton
3rd place, Championship – Friday, March 9 at Ed Werre Arena in Wahpeton

Quarterfinals – Tuesday, March 6 (starts 3 p.m. at Betty Engelstad Arena in Grand Forks)

The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) along with the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) have extended the Travel Alert to include Bismarck, Devils Lake and surrounding areas due to icy road conditions and reduced visibility.

A Travel Alert remains in effect for northwestern, central and eastern North Dakota due to icy road conditions, accumulating snow and reduced visibility. Cities included in the Travel Alert are: Williston, Minot, Grand Forks, Valley City, Jamestown, Fargo, and surrounding areas. Motorists are advised to reduce speeds as roadways are ice covered.

A Travel Alert means conditions are such that motorists can still travel in these areas but should be advised of rapidly changing conditions. Motorists are encouraged to reduce speeds and drive according to the conditions.
