DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – No one was hurt after a semi pulling a trailer with hay caught fire in Devils Lake Friday night.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports that Michael Pribyl of Thief River Falls, MN was traveling on US Highway 2 in Devils Lake when he noticed smoke coming from the load and stopped the vehicle on the roadside. Fire spread to the rest of the load and the vehicle, resulting in severe damage.

Traffic on Highway 2 was diverted around the incident until the fire was extinguished and the roadway was cleared up three hours later.

Agencies involved included the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Devils Lake Police Department, Devils Lake Fire Department, and Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office.
