Carol Eickum Seminar in Jamestown

Two Rivers Performing Arts School is hosting a vocal seminar with master voice instructor, Carol Eickum.

Soprano Carol Eikum has had a solo performing career focused on concert, oratorio and recital literature with numerous musical organizations, colleges, universities, and churches in the Upper Midwest and other regions of the United States and Europe. She was reviewed as an ‘excellent and dramatic soprano’ for her performance of Dresden Canticles by David Dickau with the Northwestern Choir in Dresden, Germany. She has been the soprano soloist in numerous major works, such as Brahms’ Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, Poulenc’s Gloria, and Haydn’s Creation.

As a featured soloist with two choirs, she traveled to Ukraine numerous times, where she also soloed with the Kiev Symphony Orchestra.

“As Associate Professor of Music and Coordinator of Vocal Studies at the University of Northwestern-St. Paul since 1986, Eikum has taught Vocal Pedagogy and Diction courses for over 26 years. She is a respected voice clinician, pedagogue and vocal consultant, having given lengthier voice seminars and master classes in Wyoming and Ukraine. Her voice students regularly win top awards in vocal competitions and have continued on to graduate study and successful performing and teaching careers. With degrees from California State University at Los Angeles (B.A. Vocal Music Education) and the University of Minnesota (M.M. Vocal Performance), Eikum did her vocal study with the late Merle Moore and Esther Andreas, Polyanne Baxter, and Clifton Ware in addition to extensive coaching with such notable musicians as Margo Garrett, Martin Katz, Julianne Baird, and the late Sanford Sylvan.”
