City, N.D. — Valley City Mayor Bob Werkhoven says the city will not have to pay for the cost of a B-C-I probe into allegations over the mismanagement of 2 non-profit and 2 private accounts under police chief Dean Ross.

Werkhoven says a report last week that the city would have to pay was not correct.

Werkhoven says the city made the request to the Barnes County State’s Attorney’s office and they asked for the Bureau of Criminal Investigation to conduct an investigation.

Werkhoven says being it was done through a law enforcement entity the city will not have to pay for the cost of the investigation.
