City, N.D. — A Valley City woman has received an Alliance Pipeline Community Service Award for her efforts working as a volunteer for several agencies to help the community.

Alliance Pipeline spokesman Scott Dieterle says Rayma Fiegen’s work as a volunteer for the Salvation Army and the St. Catherine’s Christmas Eve dinner deserves this type of recognition.

Fiegen says she’s honored to receive the award and she feels, “if you live in the community you need to give back to your community.”

Fiegen received a gift of $2,500 and she donated $1,500 to the Valley City Park and Recreation Department. She requested that a thousand dollars of that be used for the City Park Fountain restoration project.

Fiegen donated a $1,000 to the Sheyenne Valley Friends of Animals organization.
