N.D.–On Sunday, July 31st, the Jamestown Hospital made the transfer to the Jamestown Regional Medical Center. Now, almost a month later, we asked Bill Kennedy, Marketing Director, what they have heard from patients about the new facility. He said that most have expressed that they like the materials the hospital is made of. Making it not feel so much like a medical facility. Some go so far as to compare it to a motel. The spacious rooms also add to the feel.
In these first few weeks Kennedy talked about some of the milestones they have had.
“That last Sunday we had the last baby born in the old hospital and on Monday. Having a helipad now is a lifesaver. We had our first transfer out to Fargo with Lifelight that Monday or Tuesday. Since that time we have had six or seven transfers using that helipad.”
As for how the immediate future looks, Kennedy said they will be adding an orthopedic surgeon to their staff on October 1.
