N.D. — Lightening struck a building at the Dakota Plains fertilizer plant in Litchville and burned it to the ground early Tuesday morning after a severe thunderstorm blew through the area last night.

Company officials say a lightening strike about 1am hit one of the buildings and started the fire. No injuries were reported.

Volunteer firefighters from Litchville fought the blaze most of the morning and stood by to watch the structure into the morning on Tuesday.
