Minot, N.D… The Jimmie womens volleyball team wrapped up a busy stretch of it’s schedule on Monday, with a pair of matches in Minot., as Jamestown played it’s fourth and fifth matches in a four day period.
Jamestown started the day by falling to the host team, three games to one. The Jimmies bounced back to defeat Sioux Falls, South Dakota three games to none.
In the loss to the Beavers, Jada Meiklejohn had 20 assits, one ace, eight digs, and one block. Emilee Schutta had 11 kills, one ace and 10 digs, Katie Zent finished with 10 kills, one ace, 16 digs, and eight blocks, Kelsey Deragisch came up with 14 assits, nine digs, and one kill, and Katie Lee had 21 digs.
Meiklejohn had 12 assists, two aces, and seven digs in the win over the Cougars, Schutta had eight kills, two digs and two blocks, Zent had nine kills, one ace, nine digs, and three blocks, Deragisch ended with 18 assits, two kills, one ace and eight digs, and Lee had 14 digs.
Jamestown sits 14-8, and after four consecutive non-conference matches, the Jimmies will get back into conference play this weekend at the DAC super weekend tourney in Mayville on Friday and Saturday. Jamestown will battle rival Valley City on Friday night, and Mayville on Saturday. All matches will count in the DAC standings.
Jamestown is currently tied for first in the conference with the Lady Vikings, each has a record of 2-1.
