CITY  (NewsDakota.com)–The District 5 volleyball tournament starts tomorrow in Gackle.

LaMoure has claimed the top seed in the tournament, and will receive a first-round bye in the seven-team tournament.

The opening match will feature fourth-seed Pingree-Buchanan-Kensal and fifth-seed Barnes County North at 4:30 p.m.  The winner faces LaMoure at 6:00 p.m. Friday night.

The first round continues with second-seed Ellendale facing seventh-seed Litchville-Marion-Montpelier at 6:00 p.m. tomorrow, followed by third-seed Edgeley-Kulm meeting sixth-seed Central Prairie at 7:30 p.m.

There will be a consolation bracket match on Friday, followed by two semi-finals.  Monday will feature two regional-qualifying matches and the district title match.

The tournament will be broadcast on Sunny 98.3 FM.  The top four teams advance to the Region III tournament November 7th, 8th, and 10th in Wishek.
