CITY (NewsDakota.com)–The Hi-Liner volleyball team will play Fargo South in the Eastern Dakota Conference (EDC) play-in round.
The match was finalized after last night’s results. Devils Lake was beaten by Fargo Davies 3-1 (25-22, 19-25, 25-20, 26-24), dropping the Firebirds into a tie for ninth place with Valley City. The Hi-Liners swept the season series with Devils Lake, breaking the tie in Valley City’s favor.
Fargo South finished eighth in the regular season, giving the Bruins home court advantage in the play-in round. South swept the Hi-Liners at South last Tuesday.
Devils Lake will travel to Wahpeton for the play-in round, as the Huskies lost to Grand Forks Central 3-2 last night, dropping Wahpeton to seventh place.
The match between the Hi-Liners and South has tentatively been set for 5:00 p.m. Friday afternoon. The winner will advance to face EDC champion Grand Forks Red River in the opening round of the tournament.
Friday’s match will be broadcast on KOVC-AM 1490, with pregame coverage beginning 20 minutes before gametime. There is a possibility that the match will be moved to 5:30 p.m. Details will be posted on NewsDakota.com after they are finalized.
