MANDAN, N.D. (AP) – A Mandan man is expected to plead guilty on Thursday to charges he hindered law enforcement officers and provided them with false information. Nicholas Reed’s misdemeanor charges are related to an October 2010 shooting that killed one man
and injured another.
     
FARGO, N.D. (AP) – A federal judge is agreeing to close the case of a West Fargo man whose conviction for making threats against President George W. Bush was thrown out. Prosecutors decided not to retry Daniel Cvijanovich , who was released from prison in 2009 after serving his 19-month sentence. The case was overturned this summer.
     
 BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem  says consumers need to be wary of a scam that involves prepaid debit cards. Bismarck police say an 83-year-old man lost more than $17,500 in a scam that used prepaid cards.
     
   
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) – Sanford Health has opened for business in Africa. The health network with headquarters in Sioux Falls and Fargo has taken over one clinic in Ghana. It’s building two more and is on track to have 10 clinics in the country.
