– The Jamestown City Council may be going paperless soon.

The council is set to consider a resolution Monday to authorize the purchase of iPad 2’s for the City Council and certain staff in an effort to reduce the amount of paper used.

The item is on the consent agenda for Monday’s City Council meeting. City Administrator Jeff Fuchs says the cost would be about $4400 dollars total for eight iPads. The five city council members would each receive one, along with the city administrator, the city attorney and the city engineer.

“The idea there is to try and go more paperless for our meetings,” Fuchs said. “We go through tons of paper around here.”

Fuchs said a lot of governing boards have started going paperless in recent years.
