– A 74-year-old Jamestown man has died as a result of injuries sustained in a vehicle-pedestrian traffic accident on Tuesday, Nov. 29 in southeast Jamestown.
According to a release from the Jamestown Police Department: Lyle Leonard, age 74, of 806 Third Avenue Southeast, was crossing Fourth Avenue Southeast in the mid-block area of the 900 block. A 1993 Ford being driven by Carroll Schmuhl, age 79, of 7545 43rd Street Southeast, had just exited Cenex Gas Station and was proceeding north on Fourth Avenue Southeast when it struck Leonard, who was crossing east to west. Leonard was life-flighted to Fargo, where he passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 30.
Stutsman County State’s Attorney Fritz Fremgen said Thursday afternoon that the accident is currently under investigation and review by his office.
