N.D. (AP) – Searchers accompanied by a cadaver dog
haven’t been able to find a 49-year-old Jamestown man authorities
believe fell through the ice while fishing on the Jamestown
Reservoir last weekend. Divers have been combing the water this
week, and authorities also have searched the shoreline and cabins
for any signs of Darrin Ackermann. They’ll use a sonar unit today.
     
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – A North Dakota man is facing charges after
authorities say he assaulted a man and threatened witnesses on the
Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation. Kenneth Allery Junior is set to
stand trial in early February.
     
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – A popular ski area south of
Bismarck-Mandan isn’t able to make snow because of the low Missouri
River. The Huff Hills resort can’t draw enough water from its
rebuilt pumping station. The Army Corps of Engineers is dropping
the river level until it freezes.     
  
DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) – The company that’s provided armed
security at Dickinson’s airport since 2003 is ending the service at
the end of the month. The owner of Alpha 6 says the company can
make a lot more money providing security at other venues.
