Valley City kept pace with their posts. Austin Svenningson scored six off the bench in the middle for the Hi-Liners in the second, and Josh Magnuson added two more buckets from the paint in the quarter. Maple Valley led 26-22 at the intermission.
The Hi-Liner defense responded in the third quarter, holding the Raiders to just two field goals. Chase Carpenter hit his scoring groove with seven of his eventual 11 points in the quarter.
