– One person was killed and two seriously injured after a two-vehicle accident on Highway 281 two miles south of Jamestown Saturday afternoon.
According to Sergeant Tom Herzig with the North Dakota Highway Patrol, a southbound 2003 GMC Yukon, driven by 17-year-old Michael Senger of Edgeley, rear-ended a southbound 2007 Chevrolet Trail Blazer that was attempting to make a left turn off of Highway 281 about 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
The Yukon went into the west ditch and rolled several times, ejecting all three male occupants, none of whom were wearing seat belts. According to the NDHP, 20-year-old Fredrick Nannenga III of LaMoure was killed at the scene. Senger and 21-year-old Casey Cofell, Berlin, were transferred by ambulance to Jamestown Hospital, and then airlifted to Sanford in Fargo.
The Trail Blazer was pushed into the east ditch and the driver, 75-year-old Milton Snow of Jamestown, was not injured according to a report by Herzig.
The crash remains under investigation. Responding agencies were the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Stutsman County Sheriff’s Department, Jamestown Rural Fire and Jamestown Ambulance.
