(NewsDakota.com) It was another busy night for Oakes High School Athletics, as the wrestling and basketball teams were on the road Thursday night.

The wrestlers won yet another duel, this time in Napoleon against the Imperials, by the closest margin of victory this year; 37-33.

Winners for Oakes:

106 lbs: Kaleb Sell 7-2 decision

112 lbs: Erik Loepp Pin at 55 seconds

126 lbs: Robert Schmitt Pit at 1:27

145 lbs: Cody Voegeli Major Decision 9-0

182, 195 lbs and Heavyweight: Ben Ketterling, Cole Kelly, Michael Kelly Forefeit

The Tornado wrestlers are in Casselton on Tuesday night for a duel against Central Cass.

As far as the basketball teams, the girls defeated Leola/Frederick South Dakota Thursday night 50-34 to improve to 4-5, while the boys fell 52-34 with Adam Roney’s eight points leading the way. The boys are now 1-10

The girls play Friday night in Hankinson, coverage on KDDR-AM and NewsDakota.com starts around 7:15, while the boys’ next contest is Friday January 20 versus FCT.
