Valley City Commissioner Ken Evenson.

Ken Evenson says he’d like to finish out his term in office to help with the new Water Treatment plant and focus on Devils Lake issues.

Valley City Firefighter Duane Maguson.

Duane Magnuson wants to put the city back on a positive track to get new businesses to move here and to enhance the existing ones.

Evenson questioned the recall process and says he’s done nothing wrong to warrant a recall from office.

Magnuson wants to reverse the negative image others in the state have about Valley City following last summers dispute between the city and the former police chief.

Meanwhile, former Police Chief Dean Ross says he’s not running out of revenge, but wants to help move the city in a positive direction.

Mayor Bob Werkhoven said he’s done nothing wrong to warrant a recall from office. He believes he and other city officials did a good job protecting the city from flooding last spring in Valley City.

Absentee ballots are available at city hall. The only poll place next on Tuesday will be inside the city hall commission chamber room from 8am to 7pm.
