(NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Department of Transportation says seasonal road restrictions may be coming soon to some state highways.
The DOT says in a press release that warm weather patterns are the cause of early restrictions. In the southwest corner of the state, restrictions could come as early as the week of Feb. 6.
Restrictions would remain in effect until roadbeds have stabilized enough to carry normal traffic.
The DOT and county governments typically place load restrictions on roads during and after the spring thaw, when road beds are less stable.
