(NewsDakota.com)- With their 4-1 win over the Devils Lake Firebirds last night the Jamestown Blue Jay girls hockey team has locked up a spot at the state tournament.
Mataya Olson scored twice for the Blue Jays in the victory. Amber Schaack who is currently 12th in the state in scoring also put one past the goalie last night.
“We played well enough to win,” said Head Coach Brad Schaack this morning. “It wasn’t our best effort, but it did secure us a spot at state.”
The Jay girls will be back in action tomorrow at Grand Forks for a 2pm drop of the puck.
“We must have a better effort tomorrow in Grand Forks to have any chance,” commented Schaack.
Grand Forks sits one spot above Jamestown in the state standings at No. 6.
