CITY (NewsDakota.com) Valley City will have two representatives on the North Dakota Water Coalition board this year.

City commissioner Matt Pedersen and former Mayor Mary Lee Nielsen, she says the move will give the city a little more weight lobbying for permanent flood protection in the next legislative session.

The city commission unanimously appointed Nielson and Pedersen to the 19 member State Water Coalition board on Monday. The annual membership fee for the city is $1,000.
