(NewsDakota.com) – Bismarck picked up a 6-2 win over Jamestown in WDA boys hockey Thursday night in the capitol city. The Demons struck for three first first-period goals and never looked back, out-shooting the Jays 39-23.
Jamestown junior goalie Tygh Yatskis made 33 saves. Junior Jake Stilwell scored his team leading 23rd goal of the season, and senior Brady Anderson blasted in his 11th of the year.
“It isn’t acceptable how we came out and fell behind 3-0. We played much better in the second and third periods. We were more aggressive,” Jamestown head coach Matt Stockert said.
Jamestown will take a 7-13-1 record into the West Region Tournament in Bismarck next Thursday, and will be the No. 5 seed. They Jays will face the No. 4 seed Minot in the opening round at 1:30 p.m. Jamestown will need two wins in the tourney to qualify for state.
