(NewsDakota.com) The Oakes City Council held their regular monthly meeting earlier this week.

Among some of the topics according to Oakes Mayor Monty Zimmer, the council awarded a bid for water and sewer replacement for 10 blocks in town this spring and summer. The streets involved are 6th Street South from Main Avenue to Lilac Avenue, on 5th Street North from Main To Fir Avenue and 11th Street North from Main to Fir.

Zimmer also says that the 40 blocks that were fixed up last year will see sealant placed down this year.

Three city council seats will be up this June, and those wishing to run for a seat neat to pick up a petition at City Hall, have 39 signatures, and have it turned back in no later that April 13.
