CITY (NewsDakota.com) Jefferson Elementary Students set a new school record raising money for the American Heart Association this year.

“Hoops for Heart” event coordinator Brad Sufficool says students raised more than $83-hundred dollars with one student, Kyler Nielsen, collecting more than a thousand dollars.

Nielsen got to give Brad Sufficool a unique haircut while the other top 20 student money raisers got a chance to put a pie in the face of several teachers and principal Troy Miller.

Jefferson principal Troy Miller also gets a pie in the face during the annual good natured event at Jefferson elementary school.

Last year Jefferson students raised $45-hundred dollars and the year before they raised more than $7-thousand dollars.
