(NewsDakota.com) – Three Jamestown City Council seats are up for re-election during the June 12 election, and at least two will be filled by new faces.
Current council members Pat Nygaard and Ken Schulz say they will not seek re-election. City administrator Jeff Fuchs says incumbent Charlie Kourajian is seeking re-election and has turned the necessary paperwork into the auditor’s office.
Fuchs says anyone interested in running for the three open seats must pick up a petition at Jamestown City Hall and obtain about 270 signatures from Jamestown voters in order to be placed on the ballot.
Fuchs says as of Tuesday they have given out election petitions to three candidates: Kourajian, Jodie Mjoen and Francis Silbernagel.
Candidates must file their petitions with City Hall by 4 p.m., April 13.
