CITY (NewsDakota.com)–Viking mens golf is celebrating their first team title since the sport was brought back to campus in 2009.
The Vikings finished tied with Jamestown College with a team 627 for a share of the Dickinson State Spring Invite at Heart River Golf Course in Dickinson. The Vikings were bested by the Jimmies during the second day by three shots, but won the first day by three for the tie.
Taylor Hendrickson (Sr., Barnesville, MN, pictured above) went to the back nine down three shots in the individual race, but rallied for a share of the individual title with Jack Bietz of Jamestown College, each shooting a two-day 152. Ryan Mehus (Sr., Finley, ND) and Ryan LeNoue (So., Barnesville, MN) were third and fourth, respectively, at 154 and 155.
The Vikings continue their season at the Jamestown College Invitational next Friday.
