funeral service for Robert “Bob” Eugene Burchill, 70, Valley City, North Dakota will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 202 NW 3rd, Valley City, (the old Grace Free Lutheran Church) with Pastor Matthew Sprunger officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Valley City. He died April 9, 2012 at his home.
Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel, Valley City with a prayer service at 7 p.m. in the chapel. Visitation will continue one hour before the service at the church.
Robert Eugene Burchill was born August 4, 1941 in Valley City, North Dakota, the son of Sollie J. and Evelyn W. (Noeske) Burchill. He attended and graduated Noltimier School in 1959. He then attended NDSU before beginning to farm and raise cattle northeast of Valley City. He married Jane Koslofsky on June 20, 1970.
Robert served as a 4-H leader, was on the Cenex Board, was a board member of the HiLine Elevator at Peak and also served on various church boards.
He married Pamela Plecity on November 1, 1991 in Valley City and they made their home northeast of Valley City where they continued to farm.
Family was important to Bob, he loved being with his children and grandchildren.
Robert is survived by his wife Pamela, his two sons, three step-children, and seven grandchildren: Rob (Keli) Burchill, Winona, MN and their family, Kyle Dobrzynski, Nathan Burchill and Adam Burchill; Jeremy (Susan) Burchill, Wichita, KS and their daughter, Morgan Burchill; Bruce (Karen) Sandness, Pinehurst, NC; Brian Plecity, Valley City and his daughters, Alyssa Freymark, Katlyn Plecity and Rachel Plecity; and Jennifer Plecity, Jamestown, ND. Also surviving are two brothers, Duane A. (Mary) Burchill, Valley City; Lyle J. (Madelyn) Burchill, Fargo, ND; a sister-in-law, Judy (Duane) Yetterboe, Jamestown; brother-in-law, Gary (Jean) Anderson, West Fargo, ND; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Marlin J. Burchill.
