(NewsDakota.com)- A pair of late-inning three-run blasts proved to be the difference maker as the Jamestown College baseball team won the final DAC Tournament.

After beating Mayville St. 3-2 on Friday, the Jimmies won both games on Saturday. They knocked off Dickinson St. 6-4 in the first then took down Valley City St. 5-3.

In the bottom of the 8th inning with Dickinson St. leading 4-3, Jakob Ohmann’s three-run bomb off reliever C.J. Ketron gave JC the lead the for good. Nick Smart faced just three batters in the 9th to pick up the save.

Later in the day while battling the Vikings, Max Boe erased a VCSU lead with the Jimmies one-out from defeat. Valley City St. held a 3-2 lead with two down in the top of the 9th. Boe delivered his second hit of the day, a three-runs shot. 

Adam Ranger, who worked a scoreless 8th, came in and retired the Vikings in order. It is the 21st straight win for Jamestown over Valley City St.

The Jimmies will play Arizona Christian on Wednesday morning in San Marcos, CA in the opening round of the A.I.I. National Qualifying Tournament. First-pitch is at 11am CT.
