N.D. (AP) – The North Dakota Game and Fish Department says paddlefish snagging season and bowfishing season both open tomorrow. Paddlefish season runs through the end of May but wildlife officials could close it early. Bowfishing season is open through the end of September.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota Secretary of State Al Jaeger has trimmed his office hours again so workers can catch up on paperwork. The office will now be open for five hours a day Tuesdays through Fridays. About a month ago, he closed the office on Mondays except for deliveries.

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) – Two Jamestown hospital employees who went out to Walmart to buy a television earlier this month returned with something else — a patient. A store cashier went into labor while Jeremy Schiele and Dane Grebel were exchanging a TV for a hospital office. They drove Heather Elston to the ER in a hospital van and she later underwent an emergency cesarean section. Elston and her baby are doing fine.

FARGO, N.D. (AP) – Two former North Dakota State University football players who didn’t hear their names called during the NFL draft over the weekend are still getting a shot at the pros. Tight end Matt Veldman has signed a free agent contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars. And running back D.J. McNorton has been invited to the Washington Redskins minicamp.
