CITY (NewsDakota.com) It’s Severe Summer Weather Awareness Week in North Dakota. Valley City and Barnes County will test their tornado sirens about 11:15am Wednesday, May 2.

Barnes County Emergency Manager Kim Franklin said, “you are encouraged to develop a disaster plan for you and your family. Whether at home, school, or work your family should be prepared for all hazards that could affect our area.”

Please take all tornado and thunderstorm warnings seriously and seek appropriate shelter when needed this spring and summer
