CITY (NewsDakota.com) Attracting high paying jobs is the name of the game and North Dakota doesn’t have a shortage of them especially in the oil patch.

State Commerce Director of Economic Development and Finance Paul Lucy said personal income is also on the rise in Barnes County with an annual average of $46,000 dollars. He said that is higher than the state average.

Barnes County Valley City Economic Development director Jennifer Feist said the Valley Development Corporation has 720 jobs with an annual payroll of $26.5 million and a $133 million dollar economic impact in the region.

Feist and Lucy made those comment during the annual Chamber and Valley Development Corporation’s annual meeting May 14 in Valley City.
