N.D. (AP) – A group from Minot is traveling to Missouri this week to help another city recovering from a disaster. The City Council president and others will be in Joplin as that city marks the one-year anniversary of the tornado that killed 161 people.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Governor Jack Dalrymple has proclaimed this Emerald Ash Borer Awareness Week in North Dakota. The beetles have killed tens of millions of ash trees in several states and have spread into Minnesota. Foresters will be tying ribbons with informational fliers to publicly owned ash trees in more than a dozen North Dakota cities.
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) – A symposium on civility in public discourse is being held in Grand Forks this week. Former Senator Byron Dorgan will be among the speakers during the event at the University of North Dakota’s Conflict Resolution Center.
FARGO, N.D. (AP) – The North Dakota State women’s softball team finished the season 38-and-22. The Bison won one game and lost two in the NCAA Tucson Region over the weekend. They were defeated by the eventual regional winner Arizona and Notre Dame but won against Hawaii.
