(NewsDakota.com) The North Dakota Highway Patrol in conjunction with the Ransom County Sheriff’s department conducted a sobriety checkpoint in Ransom County that began at 11:30 p.m. on June 16 and ended at 1:00 a.m. on June 17. The check point yielded no arrests and no drivers were tested for impairment.
Five North Dakota Highway Patrol Troopers saturated Ransom County from the evening hours of June 15th, 2012 until the early morning hours of June 17th, 2012. The saturation of Ransom County yielded 35 citations and 27 written warnings from traffic stops. Of the citations issued 14 were for criminal violations where a suspect was arrested. The arrests made in and around the Ransom County area consisted of 2 DUI arrests, 6 Drug arrests, 5 Minor in Possession/consumption of Alcohol arrests, and 1Driving under suspension arrest.
The most important statistic from the saturation in Ransom County is that there were no reported motor vehicle crashes during the saturation.
