(NewsDakota.com) The first hit of the game for the LaMoure Post 19 American Legion baseball team was a double by the first batter of the game; Brady Thielges.
There would be another 15 hits, including a solo shot by Thielges and a grand slam by Zach Stemen to give Post 19 a solid 11-3 victory Wednesday night against Enderlin Post 221 at Hendrickson Field.
Thielges would add a double, a single and two runs score, Stemen also had the same, and Jared Meiklejohn added a single, double, triple and two runs scored to help Post 19 improve to 5-1 in Section 2 play.
Stemen earned the win, going all seven innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits, while striking out 7. Tanner Groth was taken out in the fourth for Enderlin (4-2 Section 2) after surrendering 10 hits and eight of the nine runs earned.
Next up for Post 19 is a date in Wishek against Post 87 for another Section 2 test on Thursday.
