CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The 9th Avenue paving improvement project is getting started this week in Valley City.

Chad Pedersen of Kadrmas, Lee and Jackson says a number of trees will be removed first.
Phase I will be worked on this year from main to 4th street northwest and Phase II of the $5 million dollar project will start next spring.

The city approved a construction engineering agreement to pay Kadrmas Lee & Jackson $509,000 for the 9th Avenue N.W. improvement project.

Residents and motorists of Valley City will have to deal with heavy truck traffic and detours over the next two months.

City Administrator David Schelkoph says everyone should be aware of the increased traffic in the city and exercise caution.
