CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) A 36-year-old Hutchinson, Minnesota man was arrested by Cass and Barnes County deputies this morning around 3:30am on Interstate 94 in Valley City.

He was wanted for 2nd degree assault with a dangerous weapon. Hutchinson police chief Dan Hatton says the man fired multiple shots into the ground and air with a semi-automatic handgun in Hutchinson during a dispute with another person.

A few hours later Cass County deputies spotted the suspects vehicle west of Fargo and arrested the man without incident with weapons drawn on Interstate 94 in Valley City.
